Tuscola teen dies in Coles County Crash

CHARLESTON - A Tuscola teenager died after an accident late Sunday night, a Coles County Sheriff's crash investigator reported Monday. Erika Elaine Williams, 18, was traveling south bound on Illinois Route 130, north of County Road 1200N. According to witnesses at the scene when her vehicle crossed over the center divide line and traveled approximately 1/4 of a mile south in the north bound lane. The vehicle then struck the end of a guard rail face and rolled numerous times. Williams was thrown from the vehicle, Coles County Sheriff's Traffic Crash Investigator John Clough reported Monday.

Douglas County dog registration fees increase

TUSCOLA – The Douglas County Board has voted to raise the dog registration fee from $8 to $9, and approved a $10 fee to be added to each dog registration to establish a pet population control fund.
