Pipeline trench throws another loop to Northwoods Blvd.

Once again it's hurry up and wait.

Contractors and their equipment are unavoidably messing up the flow of traffic at the same time they are trying to create a better and more likey improved water flow into Tahoe Donner neighborhoods and the amenities that surround them.

Water Systems Engineer Neil Kaufman, over a phone interview on Thursday, July 24th spoke about more work that would be included in the contract that came in at a total cost of $895,000.

Other streets that are included are: Hansel, Chamonix, and Skislope near the Boat Storage, said Kaufman.

Work had started on the 21st of this month with an expected end date of August 15th. That's a huge estimate for ending the work if one could only see the rate and the amount of pipe that needs to be laid.

Kaufman says that the total footage is 8800 feet. And other work than the 3000 feet on Northwoods would be scattered to the above areas which also includes service laterals and fire hydrants.

Last year around this same time it was the guardrails which were put in at the expense of Measure A that created a minor wait for those who found themselves on the boulevard of cirularity.

Monsters Coming to Truckee

To be precise, that would be the Blues Monsters who play contemporary blues. Aren't the blues universal, so-to-speak regardless of the contemporariness. Hmmm! But last Wednesday at the Truckee Regional Park those in attendance were given quite a show from the Johnnie Bias band. My crew and I arrived while the band was still doing sound checks. You couldn't hardly tell that they were into that for it seemed as if they were throwing out the intro to the night that was so full of rock and roll tunes. These tunes could be heard all the way to a friends house over by the Ponderosa Golf Course. Once again the night proved to be full of dancing, not to forget a community get together which encompassed all of the social stuff that comes with. From about 8 months, or 8 years to that proverbia 80 year thing, children of all ages had a great night of complete existential whateverness. Go figure!
