Agricultural disaster declared in SD counties
U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack has issued a disaster declaration that makes many farmers and ranchers in 25 South Dakota counties eligible for federal emergency loans and other assistance.

Sobriety checkpoints planned for October
The South Dakota Highway Patrol has sobriety checkpoints scheduled in October in the following counties: Beadle, Brookings, Brown, Clark, Clay, Codington, Davison, Fall River, Hand, Jackson, Jerauld, Lawrence, Minnehaha, Pennington, Roberts, Tripp and Walworth.
