Several roads will be closed today for the 16th annual Trail of Tears Commemorative Ride, which will pass through Huntsville between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. The rides honor members of the Cherokee, Choctaw, Chickasaw, Creek and Seminole nations removed from their native lands east of the Mississippi River under the Indian Removal Act of 1830.
