The Georgia Department of Labor described its Career Expo last week in Trenton as an unqualified success, with all the promised recruiters in fact showing up and 75 job seekers arriving to fill out applications.

The Dade County Industrial Authority has loomed large in recent news stories: In March, it hired as its sole employee and "industrial development developer" Peter Cervelli, who had served as Better Hometown manager for the city of Trenton as well as elected District 4 representative to the Dade County Commission.

The National Association for Amateur Radio characterizes amateur or ham radio as "a popular hobby and a service" that allows enthusiasts to enjoy their "deep appreciation of the radio art." It's not a typical hobby for a 10-year-old girl, but for one Trenton, Ga., resident, ham radio is a fascinating pastime for which she now holds a license.
