It can't get any gayer than this blog unless a movie review of "Brüno" is involved.

The blogger and the TV show "band of brothers" doesn't have their facts in order.

From the article posted in the blog:

----------begin quote

"In the ninth episode of Band of Brothers, appropriately titled “Why We Fight,” there is a scene in which hundreds of GIs are traveling in a caravan. As they do, they pass thousands of surrendered German troops.

1) Suddenly, an American soldier stands up and goes off on a tirade, calling the German soldiers names, wondering what they were thinking when they started this war. As another GI grabs him and sits him down, he mutters something about “being dragged half-way around the world, interrupting our lives…” Then he shouts,“FOR WHAT?!”

For what? He and his fellow soldiers had lost sight of the cause and were just surviving.

2) In the next scene, they rediscover their purpose. A platoon of American soldiers on patrol comes across something that had been rumored but not yet discovered - a death camp.

As they unlock the gates to the camp and enter in, the American troops are greeted by empty stares and with boney and desperate hands literally grasping for help and hope. As the soldiers walk deeper into the camp they are stopped in their tracks by the horrifying sight of row after row after row of shabby tents, out of which skeletal, almost lifeless figures emerge.

“For what?” In that death camp - in the hollow looks and the emaciated bodies - the soldiers found the answer to their question.

----------end quote

1) The Germans didn't start the war. In fact, Hitler knew that if the US and Russia became involved, that Nazi Germany was toast. With that said, Churchill bombed the German public during hundreds of night bombing raids until Germany responded to Churchill by bombing back. Churchill bombed Germany in this fashion knowing full well that the US would get involved if England got in over their heads. You can check that fact out in a book called "human smoke".

2) As for concentration camps, the Germans tried to expatriate the jews, but England and Roosevelt refused to accept any changes to their then current immigration laws to take them in. To top it off, England put in place a blockade. Which kept any expatriation of jews to other lands almost impossible. Additionally, when the people of Germany were bombed out of their homes, Jews were forced to give up theirs to Germans. In England, Churchill put all German jews in camps so that England's government wouldn't have to figure out if any were spies. You can check those facts in the book, "Human Smoke" as well.

I am a relatively educated person and none of your blogs make a lot of sense to me. Seems you just rant.

richard did seem to rant a little but scream like a little piggy I mean how can you not get that? Local I have seen some of your post It like you don't understand sarcasm or slang. Although I completely agree he is ranting a bit But least he is using comon slang and sarcasm it is you who is not getting it. Richard is right about other countries and the immigration laws at the time made the jew situation even worse.

The book to read on this subject is called "human smoke". Additionally, pay attention, why are the progressives worshipping Roosevelt? He ran under the promise that he would keep the US out of war, yet we wound up involved in a war after the Japs took the bait of attacking our San Diego fleet that was docked in Pearl Harbor...even though the Admiral in charge of that fleet requested that it be returned to San Diego.

It will be interesting when those chickens come home to roost, because the federal government is so broke and in debt to China that we'll all be learning Chinese by next Christmas.

I simply think you started this thread with no rhyme or reason. You started the thread like it was a response to something. Instead of explaining you make some totally baseless remark. What the hell was the "little piggy" thing anyway? Uncle? No sense at all. Talk to me about social movements, political structure art, music. Don't just mindlessly babble.
As far as China, I see. We are too controlled by imports. But say that...don't babble. It wastes your time and mine.

I never mentioned any political views. I must be missing the common slang. I can only think of Ned Betty in Deliverance and the line about the piggy. I still see no relevance to me unless he is saying I am similar to those Southerners portrayed in Deliverance. That in itself would show no intelligence on Richard's part as he has no idea who I am. I agree we need more stringent immigration laws. I may7 agree with other ideas of his if he actually started the thread with them He just never said that in the first post of the thread. GO back and look.....made no sense. If you want to argue, discuss, whatever, at least we should all make relevant statements to each other. I understand sarcasm and slang. I just prefer a neat and clean discussion where ideas not extra verbiage are thrown around.
Tell me when this thread is updated!
