A Grainger county man is facing theft charges after he was arrested in connection to an elaborate gas-stealing scheme.

The crash was reported shortly before 9 a.m. along the 5300 block of U.S. Highway 11W, according to a Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Toby Cameron's incident report.

Adilaih Fernandez, 40, reached a plea agreement in U.S. District Court in connection with a marijuana growing operation.

A tip led officers to the parking lot of D&R Market in Mooresburg, where they found Russell Greene, 37, of Thorn Hill, asleep in a car, according to a press release from the sheriff.
