Commissioners set Kilpatrick Baptist Association Week

Recognizing that the Kilpatrick Baptist Association has contributed to the health and welfare of different communities through their ministries for the last 100 years, the McDuffie County Commission declared Oct. 26-Nov. 1 as Kilpatrick Baptist Association Centennial Week. The commission allocated the week in honor of the association's Centennial Session on Oct. 28, at the First Baptist Church, the place of its birth in Thomson in 1914.

Three vehicles collide Monday on East Hill Street

Traffic in both directions on East Hill Street was halted briefly Monday afternoon as first responders speed to the scene of a three-vehicle accident. Two small children escaped serious injury Friday when their grandmother ran off the road and rolled the car in which they were riding. Cars collide at Cobbham-Bypass intersection

Two cars collided when a driver failed to yield at the intersection of Cobbham Road and the Thomson-Bypass on Aug. 20. The midmorning accident occurred when Olivia Fryar, 18, failed to yield while making a left turn onto the bypass from Cobbham Road, said Georgia State Patrol Trooper John Freeman.
