Bus crash victim: 'Everyone flew up in the air'

Nearly two dozen Beaumont fourth-graders were taken to area hospitals on Wednesday after their school bus careened off U.S. 69 near West Walton Road in Lumberton into oncoming traffic, striking two other vehicles and crashing into a culvert. The accident, which involved a Dodge pickup and an 18-wheeler, happened around 2 p.m. The bus was carrying 44 Charlton-Pollard Elementary School students and four adults, who were returning from a field trip in the Big Thicket.
