Tellico Plains man follows suspected metal thief

A Tellico Plains man spotted a suspicious vehicle near his property and then followed it to find the man dumping scrap metal on some other property.

The scrap yard owners around these parts are in on it, they pay the theives half scrap price for it cause it is illegal and they then crush it into the middle of a big bail of other metal and make a profit when they sell it to the bigger guys.

New laws will do no good when the scrap dealers are crooked.
