Pedestrian struck by car on Valley Blvd
A pedestrian was struck and injured by a car while crossing the road on Valley Boulevard between Pauley and Curry streets on Aug. 14. According to Tehachapi Police Department, at approximately 3:55 p.m., a car traveling westbound on Valley toward South Pauley struck the pedestrian.
Saturation patrol scheduled for Aug. 15
On August 15, The California Highway Patrol will be joining with other local law enforcement agencies in an effort to reduce traffic incidents and violations in high volume areas of the City of Tehachapi.

City council sends sales tax to November ballot
City of Tehachapi voters will find a proposal for a half-cent general sales tax measure on the Nov. 4 ballot following approval by the Tehachapi City Council on Aug. 4. In a 5-0 vote, the council approved putting the sales tax measure on the ballot following presentations by city staff and opinions from the audience.

Man falls from Dennison Road overpass
One man was transported to an area hospital after falling from the Dennison Road overpass onto Highway 58 on the morning of Aug. 9. According to the Tehachapi police department, the patient fell from the overpass at around 7:25 a.m. Hall Ambulance, Kern County Sheriff's Office and California Highway Patrol responded to the scene before turning the ...
