Man accused of injuring man in shooting

Earl Ali Bunch, 27, of McNair Road in Tarboro, was charged Friday by the Jacksonville Police Department with felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury, misdemeanor assault by pointing a gun, and felony attempt of first-degree murder.

Democratic U.S. House candidate Brenda Cleary spoke to the Democratic Women of Edgecombe County during the group's August meeting in the Edgecombe County Administration Building auditorium in Tarboro. In 2013, U.S. Rep. David Price, D-4th District, spoke with Cleary about the need for a strong Democratic candidate in the redrawn 13th District, which includes portions of Durham, Edgecombe, Franklin, Granville, Nash, Vance, Wake, Wayne and Wilson counties.

North East Prep officials recount trip to China

North East Carolina Preparatory School officials and N.C. Rep. Joe Tolson recently told the Tarboro Rotary Club about their experiences from a recent educational trip to China.
