Prairie Visions To Build Chief Taopi Trail Sites
At the meeting of Prairie Visions on Monday, Oct. 22, at the Rose Creek Fire Hall, Ken Hartwig of Rose Creek reported on the location and pictures of the Chief Taopi burial site in Faribault. Hartwig plans to build replicas of the teepee and some interpretive reading sites about the history of Chief Taopi, along the Shooting Star Trail. Contact will also be made with the county and State Historical Societies and the DNR for wording on the signs which will be built along the trail for bikers to stop and read in rest areas. Read more
