Tama Council denies liquor license renewal
Upon the recommendation of Tama Police Chief Jeff Filloon, the over-the-counter liquor sales license renewal for Las dos Fuentes was refused on a 3-0 vote of the Tama City Council Monday night.

Bond set at $1 million in Jefferson murder
UPDATE: 1 p.m., Tuesday, 2-25: Bond was set at $1 million cash for Johnathan Curtis Youngbear, 20, who faces 1st degree murder charge in the death of Severn Daniel Jefferson, age 17. Magistrate Richard Vander Mey set the bail amount during an initial appearance by Youngbear this morning.
