Jackson County patrol car rammed; suspect arrested, 1 escapes

One man is in jail and a manhunt is underway for a second suspect after authorities said a deputy was almost hit by a fleeing car Sunday afternoon in Jackson County. “We've got to get him,” Jackson County Sheriff Janis Mangum said Monday about Shannon Michael Carter, who was described as “armed and dangerous.” The suspects' car rammed the sheriff's patrol unit before fleeing at about 5 p.m. on Cooper Bridge Road near Talmo, according to Mangum.
