Hartford Police are saying it will be weeks before a state police accident reconstruction team weighs in conclusively on which driver was responsible for a headA on collision last Thursday afternoon that left a Hartland woman dead at the scene on Route 4 in front of the old Fool on the Hill farm stand.

Police and emergency officials responded to an accident between a tractor-trailer and another vehicle Thursday at 4 p.m. The woman, who has yet to be identified, was pronounced dead on the scene.

"This isn't an extra-day year, but we're getting there," said Woodstock Volunteer Fire Department Assistant Chief David Roy after his and Hartland's fire department, put out a brush fire in Taftsville last week.

Hartford, Hartland and Woodstock fire departments put out the small brush fire off of Hartwood Way, a short gravel road that runs in front of the Applebutter Inn, up on a hill behind the Taftsville Country Store.

Among a list of 32 options, the Woodstock Select Board decided the new color of the Taftsville Covered Bridge roof will be dark green and its meeting Wednesday.

A Woodstock Select Board meeting is scheduled for Wednesday at 8 a.m. to approve liquor license renewals and pick a color for the roof of the Taftsville Covered Bridge.
