Syosset man pleads guilty in $30M Ponzi scheme

A Syosset man pleaded guilty Friday to defrauding investors of $30 million in a Ponzi scheme in which the victims were supposed to get extraordinary returns by financing the importation of ecologically friendly paving stones from Australia. Eric Aronson, 46, founded and headed Permapave Industries and Permapave USA Corp. out of offices in Jericho and Syosset, which bilked 200 investors around... Obedian, Richard Prestegaard, Rohith Rokkam, Divij M. Sharma, Rebecca Sobel, Fei Wan, Charles K. Wang, Jiwei Zhong and Shijun Zhu. About 1.4 million juniors in more than 22,000 high schools entered the 2015 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2013 Preliminary National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, which served as an initial screen of program entrants.

Recently, the IDA -- in one of a series of generous incentives granted to retail establishments -- managed to mine gold by using monthly locker rentals as justification for helping out a national chain of family-oriented health clubs. No Warning Sign - No Ticket

For the second time this summer, drivers who were caught on camera speeding in school zones in Nassau County are getting out of their tickets. Nassau officials are voiding the $80 citations issued last week because there were no warning signs set up near the cameras that caught photos of the speeding cars.
