Plan unveiled to reopen Swain ski resort
August 13, 2009, 1:52 PM / An Allegany County ski resort that was facing closure because of the economy may have found new life, as the owners of a Pennsylvania resort have agreed to lease it and maintain it until they are able to buy it.
Owners of a ski resort in Pennslvania want to rent Swain with the hope of eventually purchasing it.
Terms of the agreement, which will be finalized Oct. 1, were not disclosed. The decision follows a July 23 ballot vote by Kenton FCU's 3,000 members, the majority of whom approved the merger.
The Small Business Administration says its new loan program is off to a promising start.
