A New York judge has tossed out a cookbook author's claim that comedian Jerry Seinfeld's wife was a culinary copycat when she came out with one of her own.

"Paper Chase: Works on Paper by William Merritt Chase and His Contemporaries" is a beautiful, wide-ranging but, in the end, slightly disappointing show at the Heckscher Museum of Art that celebrates the role of William Merritt Chase as an influential artist, tastemaker and teacher in late 19th- and early 20th-century America.

August 13, 2009, 1:52 PM / An Allegany County ski resort that was facing closure because of the economy may have found new life, as the owners of a Pennsylvania resort have agreed to lease it and maintain it until they are able to buy it.

Owners of a ski resort in Pennslvania want to rent Swain with the hope of eventually purchasing it.

Terms of the agreement, which will be finalized Oct. 1, were not disclosed. The decision follows a July 23 ballot vote by Kenton FCU's 3,000 members, the majority of whom approved the merger.
