Food Seized In Crackdown On Unlicensed Venders
About 500 pounds of food and carts valued at $7,000 were confiscated during a crackdown on unlicensed vendors around Riverside County, a sheriff's sergeant said Saturday.
The sweep in unincorporated Rubidoux, Sunnyslope, Pedley, Glen Avon, Mira Loma and Eastvale took place between 6:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. Friday, said Sgt. Steve Brown of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
A task force made up of sheriff's deputies and county health officials undertook the operation to reduce the amount of unlicensed food sales, which represent "a significant health risk to the public and residents of Riverside County," Brown said. Read more
