Start of the Sundance
The whine of the gas-powered log splitter was the most dominant sound at the Sundance site Monday at Pipestone National Monument, where many worked to prepare the site for the coming ceremony. Philip Yenyo , executive director of AIM of Ohio and a Cleveland resident, feels the heft of a slab of pipestone that he said took about four men to recover from the Sundance Quarry at Pipestone National Monument.
