Miron is out. He is tainted by his family's reputation and his own reputation from his sleazy legal practice. Harkins is dying a slow death. He is campaining on the basis of change yet he will perpetuate the sins of the past. He cannot correct the pension deficit and promise to fully fund the plan. He must negotiate for cuts with the union. He has accepted their endorsement and money. How can he do it when tainted by money? The town attorneys office will NEVER see reform under him. His first appointment will be Kevin Kelly, the same man who has been doling out political favors and lining his pockets with out tax dollars. The time is now to rid Stratford of dirty politics forever. Voters must step forward, be boldand elect a man beholden to nobody. Someone who will work for the people. That man is Dominic Costello. www.costello9.com

The time is now to rid Stratford of dirty politics forever. Voters must step forward, be boldand elect a man beholden to nobody. Someone who will work for the people. That man is Dominic Costello. www.costello9.com I went to the debates with the intent of hearing my favored candidate show what he can do & run the town like a business. The mayor came in with his slick sales pitch - kind of like the snake oil salesman in the days of old. He has been in the job 4 years and I have to ask - are you better off now than you were when he took his oath of office. I can tell you if paying more taxes to hire friends and cronies is a good thing, then I would be better off- but I'm not. Mr Mulligan did as I had expected- he kept things interesting. Mr. Costello was a disappointment to me. I don't think he showed that he has what it takes to lead the town. He thinks he can just be in charge because he is the mayor & it almost sounds like what Miron has been accused of- listen to me because I'm the boss. That may work in the setting of a donut shop where you are the boss, but not in today's political arena- especially in this town. You need a person who can work with everyone to get the job done- not try to bully them into submission. Didn't Dom say something in the first election about he would not take a salary or a reduced salary if taxes did not go down if he was mayor? Is that offer still on the table? I don't recall the details as that was several tax bills ago. Mr. Harkins did seem to be the most sincere. He did not always have the snappy comeback lines- but at least for this debate for me- he is more realistic in what can be accomplished by the next mayor. He does not make up things as he goes along or try to give the answer you want to hear - he is honest. And it seems to me he knows he cannot go it alone- he need to work with both parties to be successful. Harkins has my support and vote

That man is Dominic Costello. www.costello9.com As we all know- the measure of a successful business is not the gross receipts, but how much did Dom himself make of that million plus? If he ends up with only a few thousand dollars after all that cash flow- then I wonder - does that put him in the successful category? So tell me- how successful is he? Tens of thousands? Hundreds of thousands each year? Does he give himself a generous salary that he will forego when he is mayor? Do the donuts turn a substantial profit? Does he ever donate cash to charity- or just coffee & donuts? When he donates those freshly baked donuts - does he take a tax deduction for those donations? If so- are the deductions at his costs for the product? Or does he deduct the retail cost - which would be more business friendly when filing that IRS return? Dom's supporters touted his gross income- so now tell us the rest of the information. We want to really get to know the man and how he handles the dollars when they come in. Show some transparency in how you handle your money - since that is how you prepared yourself to handle our tax dollars. We the public want to know!

"Dead on Arrival" couldn't be more right in his analysis of Harkins and Miron. They are both in it for their own gain and that of the party. Miron has already shown his true colors and so has Harkins and the republican party. If they had endorsed Dom the last time, we wouldn't have had 4 years of Moron, but no, Dom wasn't the chosen one. Why do you think Harkins is? Because he is a yes man and does the bidding of the party. As state rep. we lost over 80 million dollars in education funds, why because Harkins couldn't bring it home. Think he'll do any better as mayor, think again he will dole out political paybacks and everyone knows Kelly has already made a fortune off the town. Harkins and all his cornies will laugh all the way to the bank while feeding at the public trough. Want things to change, then vote for Dom Costello he is the only one that can bring real change to Stratford.

Want more nepotism (Buturla, LoShaivo x 2), high legal fees, low employee moral, excessive public works overtime, another 4 years of intimidating leadership, and more senseless firings (such as Soto, Mencel, Tiernan, Naylor, Cybart, McNeil, Soto, Imbro, etc.), then re-elect Miron. Want to help Miron, then vote for the owner of the dirtiest donut shop in Stratford. Thankfully he doesn't have a chance. Want to move Stratford forward with a leader who will work hard to end the divisive and embarrassing "leadership" (read failure) of Miron, then elect a good man who cares, VOTE FOR JOHN HARKINS ON NOV. 3rd!

Folks on these blogs are really going to be upset when Miron wins again next Tuesday. At least it will give everyone something to do for the next four years at work by continuing to blog. "Mulligan 09"

If you are any kind of law enforcement professional, this should be a slam dunk for you.

jimmy thinks he can overcome himself(hahaha) but he'll never overcome CAPA(citizens against power abuse)especially when the key person is one his most trusted people! lol....jeez jimmmy, even your own know you can't win-so they are prepping to nail you so they don't get nailed... this is a very interesting turn of events, indeed. i' just sit back here and watch to see what they accomplish. your "buddy" is already referring to you as the former mayor! gotta love it!!!!!!!!!!
