Man, Possibly Off-Duty Cop, Killed In Accident

Police in northwest suburban Melrose Park refuse to comment on reports that an off-duty Stone Park police officer was killed in an accident involving a motorcycle and an SUV on Wednesday afternoon.

A man in his 30s was killed in an accident involving a motorcycle and an SUV at at 2033 N. Mannheim Rd., according to a spokesman for the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

The man's name is being withheld pending family notification, the spokesman said. Pronouncement information was not immediately available. Read more

My thoughts are with you and your family, you have experienced a great loss, I don't know him personally, but to lose a husband and father at such a young age, is hard on everyone. God Bless you and stay strong

You will be Missed brother. I've never met such a good man. He was a great father,husband,brother, and friend and my prayers are with the family and friends. I'll never forget the day we took the stang out. That was a blast. I know now that you are watching over your family and friends and they couldnt have a better guardian angel.
