Chrin is a great business partner for Palmer Township. I hope he realizes his dream of developing Palmer into the mecca of industrial parks

sounds like chrin is the jaindl of northampton county - overturning the farmland and sprouting up sprawl. i guess that's progress though. chrin will make a bundle, quality of life will deteriorate, taxes should continue to soar...

Are you so naive to believe that some home run type of economic development will occur in this area with a new interchange?? It will be warehousing!! Take it to the bank. This site is in a perfect location with its proximity to NYC. Easy access to both I78 and I80. Make no mistake about it, this will be the new Upper Macungie of Northampton County. Oh.. there will also be some nice cookie cutter subdivisions too. To anyone reading this, be very careful for what you wish for, you may just get it!!

"no environmental impact"???
Hundreds of acres of farmland covered over with buildings and asphalt will be the result. Where is all the rainfall to go? Directly into the Bushkill creek? Maybe Chrin should buy out all the homes that will be the target of future flooding along the creek. |

1. If Chrin is the bad guy, so are the people who sold out all the land.
2. The only thing that will be developed is warehousing. Boom or bust periods in the economy, with one constant: Warehousing. There has been a small industrial park waiting for "high end" tenants, for about three decades. Stabler Center. 3. The Townships are desperate for rateables. They would rather Chrin develop the farmland than be the ones to have to push a tax increase. 4. A zoning hearing board is no mechanism to control growth. ZHBs frequently grant all variances requested. 5. Saying that the interchange will have no environmental impact probably created environmental impacts in the pants of Tatamy residents from laughing so hard. Well played, Greg Elko, well played. I also dig the retro 80s look. 6. It's amazing how each municipality involved has actively screwed each other and their residents with the decisions they have made. 7. Someone needs to tell Mike Kaiser at the LVPC that it's time to retire. As the Valley's planning group, all you hear is crickets as they sit on the sidelines. |

Well-said! I grew up in Fogelsville near Route 100/I-78 in the 1970s and 1980s as warehousing, hotels, office buildings, etc. began covering over the fields I remembered as a kid. I finally moved out of there three years ago to escape the 24/7 truck traffic that simply besieges that area. Yes, I realize that the nation and its economy relies on trucks to keep us moving. But I lived there BEFORE the diesel fumes, jake brakes, traffic jams, bright parking lot lights, and the truly gross "trucker bombs" tossed at random from the cab. Stockertown-Tatamy-Palmer, if you want to see what your future looks like, spend some time in Upper Macungie Twp. at Route 100/Schantz Road or Route 100/Tilghman Street. We need trucks but you wouldn't want to live next to a huge number of distribution centers for anything ... |

I look forward to the annual flood season in Easton. It’s the perfect solution to clean up the that city. Submerge it.
Bring it on... |

We all know that "industry" is chomping at the bit to come to PA, and that the only thing lacking is an interchange on Rt 33.
Development = More People = More $,... ... UNTIL they realize that crime has increased 2000%, and they have to pay for more (Union) Police, Sanitation, etc. Good Luck! |

Plus the flat areas around Fogelsville (to Macungie etc) was the largest section of Class 1 farmland in Pennsylvania in the 1980s.
Community leaders and developers have been tripping over themselves trying to build it up since. Its not all gone but soon will be. Will it be the year 2020 or 2040 when the next young Americans yell at us, "What were you thinking when you paved all the farms!"

Did we really think that opening up 33 to 78 was for the benefit of anyone but these warehouses and truckers? Travelling from the 33/248 area, it is so much quicker into NJ going through Easton/Pburg. I agree with a previous poster, Michael Kaiser needs to be put out to pasture.

You can't stop progress!
Progress in Eastern PA means more people, higher taxes, more flooding, more crime. Gotta love it! |

You forgot the land developers and big-box stores. How many "malls" have popped-up along this stretch since it opened. All this, of course, until that bridge collapses, as it is already in trouble. |

..only to the uneducated. |

Its called "progress" people!
Face it, the Lehigh Valley is growing... Embrace it, or leave! A nd when you leave, be sure to head west, away from the east coast. The east coast will be one major metropolis from Boston to DC one day! |
