Stewartstown taxes should hold

Tax rates in Stewartstown are expected to remain the same in 2010. The borough council recently gave tentative approval to a proposed general fund budget of $1.16 million, an increase of about $120,000 over the current budget but based in part on a millage rate of 2.85 mills, the same millage charged this year.

York City Police are investigating three recent robberies. Police said Emerson J. Atkins Jr., 50, of Camelot Court in Stewartstown, had parked his car in the overflow parking lot of York Hospital, 1000 block of South George Street, just after 5 a.m. Wednesday when he was approached by a man asking if Atkins could make change.
