Spring in N.Y. causes case of a beaver fevera

Rensselaer County officials are warning Berkshire residents to stay away from a popular Stephentown spring that has caused an outbreak of giardiasis -- a disease commonly known as "beaver fever" -- that has sickened about a dozen people so far, with symptoms ranging from abdominal pain to diarrhea and vomiting.

18 years ago I thought I had a case of Beaver fever and waited three days to go to the ER. I had all of the traditional symptoms such as severe abdominal cramps, fever, nausia and diareah. When I finally went they discovered that my appendix had ruptured and the amount of toxins in my body brought me to near death. If you think you have this ailment- get checked anyway- you never know!

Anyone know if this is the spring on Pool Hill Road? I can't figure out from the articles if that's where it is, or if it's a different one. Either way, with Lanesboro spring also closed, guess I'm back to drinking city beer.
