Nebraska company buys Spencer manufacturer
Thurston Manufacturing Co. of Thurston, Neb., says it has purchased Simonsen Iron Works of Spencer, Iowa, and plans to reopen the plant Monday morning.

Fitzpatrick sentenced in Spencer, IA beating death
He faced life behind bars, but thanks to a plea deal, 21-year old Christopher Fitzpatrick's been sentenced to 45-years in prison.
