With spring break over, now is the time for prospective students to enroll in summer and fall courses! Admissions staff and faculty have planned five enrollment clinics over the next months and encourage those considering OPSU to take advantage of the convenience of enrolling early.
The clinics offer "one-stop shopping" for prospective students by having all of the resources necessary to begin a college career and the entire process may take less than two hours. In addition to applying for admission and enrolling, future students meet their advisor, sign up for campus housing, learn about financial aid, and take a campus tour. In addition, students who enroll in 15 hours or more will be eligible to enter a drawing to win a full tuition waiver for one academic year! Read more

SHS Arts Students Take Top Honors
The area Visual Arts Scholastic Event (Art's UIL event) was held February 23, in Amarillo. Spearman High School art students competed with area schools of all sizes throughout the panhandle area.
The students had to take their artwork to show and explain individually to a judge, write short essay explanations, and participate in an interview where they were asked questions concerning purpose, media, techniques, elements of art, principles of design, artists, and art history. The students were then scored on the artwork and on the interview. The total of the scores determined what rating they got. The ratings in art are opposite from music contest ratings; where in Art a IV is the top, superior rating, and I is below average. Read more
