Sarasota County Sheriff's Office is investigating a Bank Examiner scam. Twice recently two elderly females in the South Venice area were contacted by telephone by a male subject representing himself as a bank examiner.
Fake bank examiner steals from 2 women
Two elderly women in South Venice were duped by a man who claimed to be a bank examiner and asked each of them to give him more than $5,000. The victims were called by a man who told them he worked for their bank and was trying to catch a teller who embezzled money.
Bank Examiner scam resurfaces in Sarasota
