Home Depot, Conservancy donate flowers to Allegheny County
Allegheny County officials this morning announced that Home Depot has donated 15,000 annuals to the county Parks Department to replace a portion of the flowers and plants destroyed in a fire at the South Park greenhouse on May 1. The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy has also donated 1,600 large annuals.
Donations of flowers to brighten county sites after fire
Allegheny County will bloom this spring, after all. A May 1 fire that destroyed a county parks greenhouse burned at least 100,000 flowers and plants that will be replaced, in part, by The Home Depot and the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, parks Director Andrew Baechle said Friday.
A person shot overnight in South Park was hospitalized, and authorities have two people in custody.
