They stopped me. I showed them my license, insurance card and registration. They smiled, I drove off.

No biggie, except for the person who got busted.

I guess they mapquest-ed their way up there, as I've had them stop at the house twice in the last couple of years and ask "How do I get off the mountain?". Come on guys, ALL roads lead OFF the mountain!

Let me ask you this, how would you react if the cops knock on your door and just started searching your house with no cause or warrant? By the sounds of it, you would just be dandy with it.
Which other rights would like to give up?

Totally BS comparison!!

These and DUI checkl points are legal and have been tested time and again right up to the SCOTUS!!!

If you're not doing anything wrong then you have nothing to hide or be concerned with !!!

A 'BS' comparison, not really. Read the 4th Amendment and particular attention to the part that says "The right of the people to be secure in persons, houses, papers, and effects against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated."
A checkpoint, such as this, is only legal if advertised to public beforehand.

The 'if your not doing anything wrong...' is simply a cop-out (pun intended) excuse. If I am driving on a road and doing absolutely nothing wrong, I should not have to submit to a question/answer session along with the 'show us your papers' routine, just to prove I am not doing anything wrong. Presumed guilty until proven innocent? It's the other way around in America, at least for now.

I don't think the Jews doing anything wrong when the Nazi's came to take them to concentration camps? Do you?

The last state cop that pulled me over kept on saying that my tag was dead, but i just got it renewed the week before, i finaly told him to run my VIN number showing that the car was in my name and legal, when he tried to leave i asked for his name and his badge number and said that he wasnt required to give it to me and drove off spinning his tires. Cops think that we are idiots, but their are some that are not. Im still looking fo the trooper who pulled mr over so i cna get his car number, not that it would matter

You're ability to drive a vehicle is NOT A RIGHT, it is a PRIVILEDGE granted under Title 75, Motor Vehicle Codes and not the USC!!!!!

Show me in the USC or PAC where it says YOU or ANYONE has the RIGHT to drive-operate a motor vehicle without being stopped, etc!!!!

Typical of the cops to violate innocent motorists on South Mountain. The cops will not respond to problems because they are too busy molesting the genral public to be bothered by criminal types. More wasting of tax monies. And forget the Priviledge stuff, just because some lawmaker says it is doesn't mean it is so. You beleive everything else they tell you too I suppose.

I agree! Although it is a nuisance and it takes time to go through and I personally don't like police very much.

I read the constitution, it it didn't say anything about stopping cars looking for DUIs and anything else they might see.

I do recall something in some legal document about illegal search & seizure.

This is lazy police work.

What if we decided to randomly pick out a street & search every house for drugs?

The best is when they stop people for a sobriety check, they bring along the drug dog to sniff your car.

This is nazi Germany tactics & papers please. It is dangerous & a threat to our personal freedoms.

There was the cop in Shippensburg a year ago or so, saw a kid standing on the street, asked him if he could search him. The kid said no & the cop said that was grounds to do a body search.

The nerxt thing you know, they'll be tasering old ladies at traffic stops.

Show me where in the USC or PAC it says YOU or ANYONE has the RIGHT to own a home. Does that mean that since it is a priviledge that the gustopo can come in any time they want at random without cause.
