Bid to swap troubled Huntington school

A proposal to have Huntington Town Hall and the Jack Abrams Intermediate School swap buildings was the subject of a brief debate Tuesday night during a forum at the school called to discuss the problem of crime and violence in the streets around the school.

Health care rally Saturday on Route 110

Long Islanders for Change and Organizing for America are planning “Honk for Health Care,” a demonstration supporting President Barack Obama’s health care initiative, on Saturday at the intersection of Route 110 and Jericho Turnpike (Route25) near the Walt Whitman Mall. It will run from 10:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. and feature supporters waving homemade signs, handing out informational flyers and collecting petition signatures supporting health care reform.
