City of Minot, City of Surrey, City of Burlington, Ward County, state and most federal offices will be closed Friday for the Fourth of July holiday, which falls on a Saturday this year.

More Rain Expected in North Dakota
The National Weather Service says rain could worsen flooding in the Souris and James River basins in North Dakota.
A strong spring storm is headed into North Dakota Tuesday evening and while the southwest portion of the state is expected to get between a quarter and a half of an inch of rain, some western and central areas may get more than an inch, according to the National Weather Service, which issued a special weather statement late Tuesday afternoon.
The release gates at Lake Darling Dam were closed completely shortly after noon Monday, bringing to an end any threat of unwanted water to those residents of the Souris River basin who have already seen plenty of water.

Mouse Flooding From Minot to Towner
The flood fight is in high gear along the Mouse River. From one end of the river to the other, the mighty Mouse is flexing its muscles - washing out some homes, flooding farm and ranch lands, and altering transportation.
LOGAN A flurry of sandbagging was undertaken in Logan Monday evening and continued Tuesday as residents in that area braced for high water that had already passed through upstream communities, including Minot.

Despite high water levels, Minot city officials are not concerned about the Souris running through the Magic City.

Ward County residents are still watching the Souris and Des Lacs rivers, but they've apparently dropped.
