Police: Store sold fake Nike sneakers

Authorities say there's a good reason why Street Wear in downtown Souderton sells brand name sneakers at bargain prices: They're fake.

The store's owner -- Justin C. Coale, 28, -- was charged Tuesday with selling counterfeit Nike sneakers after Souderton police seized more than $10,000 worth of allegedly fake merchandise from his shop at 145 Main St.

The arrest was part of Nike's ongoing nationwide crackdown on counterfeiters, according to Bob Sander, an assistant district attorney for Montgomery County, who is prosecuting the case. Read more

I didn't know they were fakes. You can't buy Nikes for $25-30 anywhere, real ones that is. How does he explain the CD's. He didn't know that was illegal? Hit'em with the max.

If they can't afford real sneakers for their family, do you think they're gonna have a computer?

I run a 'legit' business....I reproduce compact discs himself and sells them for $5 each....

Those two comments makes you wonder about his other statement that he could be selling drugs to kids.....does it mean if he sold drugs to adults that would be OK

Yeah, I would have to say that I strongly agree with the others, he knew the shoes were fake. All nyone has to do is look at the box, if the shoes are bigger than the box something is wrong. Someone sold me a fake pair of shoes and so I understand what Nike is going through. Websites like tradekey are promoting fake items to be sold in stores because that is all that they sale. Somebody needs to stop this fake shoe stuff because I am a sneaker freak and don't want to be cheated out my money. He deserves this...duh!
