Nevaeh? Messiah? Miracle? Why would parents do that to a child?

During one of the Star Wars crazes, a woman brought her baby girl into our doctor's office and she had named the baby Amidala (sp?) after Princess Amidala. hmmmmmmmm.

"Daddy, why did you and mommy name us 'Destiny','Cherry' and 'Princess' "?

"Because mommy and I wanted something to remember of how we met: she worked at Hooters."

I used to hate old-fashioned names, but now I love them & I don't like the new trendy names anymore.

Adelaide
Genevieve
Bernadette
Cadence
etc.

I met a 6 year old girl & her name was Adelaide. Those names are coming back.

I typically look at these "Most Popular Names" list when I think of what to NOT name my children.
I was born in the 80s, and I have 5 friends named Jennifer. I am very thankful that my parents chose to not go with an overly-popular name.

Freakonomics mentioned that a child's name reflects more on the parents' income and education status than the child's future income and education status.

So, why would someone want to insinuate that they are uneducated trash by naming a child Nevaeh? Nevaeh herself will be just fine.
