Have the customers double check! RG&E are out shutting off elecrtic for non-payment. No notice,no phone call. They just show up and shut it off.

It's very strange re: the shutoffs. For myself, RGE sends at least two disconnection warnings, and then will put you on a 12 month repayment plan if you can give them a small deposit on the overdue balance. They go out of their way to not interrupt your power.
But a friend of mine, a few weeks late, no termination notice, no nothing. Just came home to a dark house. Is there a different standard for some based on location? Say a remote area would be shut off sooner than a residential area? |
