Another case of "poor kids" can't go. This practice is humiliating to the kids that cannot go. Split the band, the cheerleaders, and players in half also. Believe me, I was a high school football player; these pep rallies do not mean a thing to us. What counts is what you have prepared to do on the field; no amount of screaming and yelling, or music is going to make you play better.

This is really a non-story. They said they would find a way so a kid without money could be allowed to attend. The times is just looking for something to bash the district. And which Board member did they interview..."mini-me " Gandara who has yet to vote differently from his "papa" Gandara on the SISD board. Remember, he said he was his own man and would vote differently from his daddy. NOT!!!

You have got to be kidding me. Charging a fee to attend an assembly? As if the parents don't pay enough in taxes already?

This is a fact of life. Education is no different. If you don't have money you can't enjoy much more than the basics. Please wake up! This is not about fairness or equality, these are extras that are icing on the cake not essentials. In this country Education is free because we provide it through our taxes. These students have got to get it through thier heads that we are not going to provide them thier recreation as well

I do not see anything wrong with charging students for pep rallies. They say the money is used for other student activitiies so I believe them!

This is not news. Either pay the one dollar or bring the pumpkin pie filling can that nobody wants.

My kid went to Montwood four years and never did I ever hear about needing a dollar to go to the pep rally. I think that's a good idea to use that money for other events, I know decorations are pretty expensive. Really, why did this story even make the paper?

STOOPID!!! Who is Nicole Gomez anyway? Where did they drag her up from? Maybe she's a disgruntled Montwood ex who was never able to go to a pep rally!
