One of the world's most well known UFO incidents is now believed to be a hoax. The "Zamora Incident" involved a policeman in New Mexico who reported sighting a landed oval-shaped craft with two humanoids outside it.

As a lifelong resident and having known Lonnie Zamora and Dr. Sterling Colgate I have a lot more confidence in what Lonnie Zamora has to say, than what Sterling Colgate has to claim.
You do realize that many of these claims about the hoax happened after many drinks a the infamous Capitol Bar, which was THE hangout for Dr. Colgate and the Techies !!!

Though it'll be tough to prove conclusively at this late date (and thus have a payout one way or the other), my betting money still says it was a student prank.

The largely male population had the technology and knowledge at hand, too few other local recreational activities and women to occupy the spare time, and large amounts of alcohol to fuel the imagination.

The writer Jack Williamson also concluded from the evidence that the "UFO" was a student prank that took advantage of a small town policeman's lack of big city sophistication. That's IMHO too.
