American Legion to distribute poppies
Members of Smiths Creek American Legion Post 525 will be at major shopping centers in Kimball Township, Marysville, Port Huron and Fort Gratiot Thursday, Friday and Saturday soliciting money for its poppy program, which raises money for disabled veterans in the area.

A 44-year-old Smiths Creek woman was airlifted Thursday to William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak after she was hit by a car in the 3400 block of West Water Street in Port Huron Township.
