Bill proposed to bring uniformity to county's fire districts

Due to changes since it was first proposed in August, the Lyon County Board of Commissioners proposed an ordinance to amend Lyon County Code Title 6 and Title 10 that is designed to make some items standard among the fire districts in the county but also allow individual district flexibility.

While the early season snowstorm last Saturday night/early Sunday morning left Mason Valley white and dropped even more snowfall in Smith Valley, it didn't do much for the early snowpack, according to SNOTEL data.

Well, it was a quick dip into wintry weather, but it looks like fall will come back with an -- um, you really can't say 'vengeance,' can you? I mean, there's no such thing as extreme fall weather, since fall and spring are kind of by definition mired in mediocrity when it comes to extremes.
