United Supermarkets guests donate more than $60,000
United Supermarkets, LLC announced today a donation of $61,034 to Lubbock Meals on Wheels as a result of combined funds raised at Lubbock United Supermarkets, Market Street and Amigos locations through the 22nd annual "Easy As Pie" campaign.

One injured, performances canceled after blaze in O.L. Slaton Middle School auditorium
One person was treated for injuries and two performances are canceled after a fire in the auditorium of O.L. Slaton Middle School just after 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12. Fire crews extinguished the fire at the school in the 1600 block of 32nd Street.

Former downtown federal building, post office among properties Lubbock County sells
County commissioners accepted two purchase offers from company representatives for county-owned properties, including Lubbock's historic former downtown federal court house and post office which sold for $500,000.

Making dropouts a priority
