Thanks SCF for killing more tax dollars for the town...good job.

Today would have been a nice day for a walk in that nice complex, maybe sit and enjoy coffee or a snake, but you left us with a tick infested eye sore. That old CLP building was so worth saving. Good Job you bunch of clowns.

Dem's and Reps' have become one...taxes, development, education, land use.

Time for real change, not the mere illusion.

Towns like Simsbury need to move beyond keeping some residents egos stroked. The schools are Ok but not great based on the higher income population, but the myth of school performance is necessary to keep real estate prices up. The whole sprawl thing is really for the same reason to keep house prices inflated.

Real towns have a good mix of business, retail services and housing that grow as needs arise, not by some government fiat. Town government is pretty simple. Good management of services (like roads, etc.) and the rest will take care of itself in good New England fashion.

As a taxpayer in Simsbury I'm getting real sick & tired of candidates who keep telling us how great the school system is here and how we have to keep throwing more & more money at it.
Get real people, we are not #1 no matter how much money is spent. There are too many administrators (just look at the board of education staff directory) and not enough qualified teachers. We are wasting our tax dollars for mediocracy.

You are so right, the SAT scores are so low, the schools in Winsted are so much better. And Bridgeport I hear it's top.

Daily Horoscope for November 11

Cancer

You can enjoy today's energy, no matter how frantic the pace of life might seem. Plan to meet a friend for lunch and talk about silly things; there is no need to stay serious all the time, so let loose for a while. Pick the brains of someone older and wiser. If you're the oldest person you know, you'll be surprised at how much wisdom can come from the mouths of babes.
