One more proactive wonderful thing that make sense.

I cannot tell you how frustrating it can be in Cary/Apex to see beautiful Oaks taken out like they were scrub pine. Nothing is sacred here. Or honored.

Way to Go Chatham!

Well, while you're putting plaques on trees, ask those without a job or health insurance, or the chicken farmers who can't get a contract, or the elderly who can't pay their bills, or.... or....

And we want to spend money to recognize trees???

Don't get me wrong... I appreciate trees and am gratified to see trees saved and responsible tree harvesting as opposed to ugly clear cuts... But we're in the worst recession since the 1930s and we're going to spend the money on trees??? Grant money you say... Not taxpayer money? That may be so, but give the money to feed the hungry...

Now I've heard it all... Just when I didn't think our commissioners could get more ridiculous...

Yes trees are essential to a healthy environment. I think we all know that. Maybe some folks don't get that. Even more do not get the fact how trees are also essential to the looks of a neighborhood or town. To put it bluntly treeless is ugly. A neighborhood with old trees is often a neighborhood whose property values are more. Real estate 101...trees contribute to the value of property. I think it is a grand idea to encourage and value trees in our neighborhoods.

Daily Horoscope for December 16

Capricorn

Today's New Moon urges you to get to grips with something that's been weighing on your conscience recently. Do something about it, dear Goats, preferably before Christmas Day. Think how much better you'll feel when you've finally faced up and taken some concrete action over it. You'll wonder why you waited so long before doing something about it.
