Winn Parish war hero remembered

The marker on his grave at the Luxembourg American Cemetery and Memorial reads William S. Simmons, but the Winn Parish soldier who died during World War II at the age of 19 is still remembered by family as Sharon. Simmons' given name was derived from the biblical Rose of Sharon.
