Fire pits are hot in La Vista, as accessory and legal topic

“It's nice for people to sit in their backyard around a little fire and talk. I'm sure that's why people want them in the first place. As long as they are used safely . . . then I think they are fine.”

Confusion over outdoor fire pits, such as those sold at many home improvement and discount stores, led La Vista city officials to prepare an ordinance to allow them. via Omaha World-Herald
