It was a sad day when I found out that we lost another great soldier from Shiprock, New Mexico.
My hometown is Shiprock, NM I now reside in Flagstaff, AZ. The Westbrooks were our neigbors growing in about 1/4 mile west of my parents farm. I went to school with Alan Westbrook and my younger brother was in the same class as Kenneth. Mr. & Mrs Westbrook raised their sons to have repect for others. And they showed in school and within the community of Shiprock. They will be greatly missed. I have them in my prayers and for all those who have family in the military. For, we to had one of ours there in Iraq. He was wounded to but was able to continue his duties until he came back to us. Our freedom is not free, to be able to have our freedom others have sacrificed their lives. And I would like to thank the Westbrooks for their unselfish and undying love for our country and their sacrifice. Thank you and my god bless you all in your time of sorrow. |

It was sad to hear that we lost another brother. May all our prayers and love go to the family for their sacrifice. We as Native people know all to well the meaning behind loss. Pray that our brothers and sisters come home soon and safe.

I grew up near Ruth's mother and father. Her father was one of the earliest chairman of the Navajo Nation. Also my father, her father and former NN President Thomas Atcitty's father were the first one to homestead on the Mesa Farm Road. We are all related. The passsing of the two boys is devastating and I thank God for the people's support. Time heals.
