Money can be replaced but time can not and this is a reason why these bums are so willing to pay a fine and get it over with. They have to start getting time behind bars for DUI because the loss of a few bucks does not make a difference. Take for example, a few years ago on Long Island, a family ,in a limo, had just left a wedding and was on the way to the reception when a drunk driver plowed into the limo and killed the driver and ,I would like to say,2-3 others and one of the victims was a little 7 year old girl who had been the flower girl at the wedding. The ONLY part of the child that did not get destroyed was her head,and the mother took her daughter's head and crawled out of the wreck,and sat on the curb rocking it in her arms until the EMS persuaded her to give it to them. It was heartbreaking! This 24 year old drunk KNEW he was going to get deliberately get intoxicated that evening,still drove,and had a blood alcohol results that would floor you! He was charged with 2nd degree murder,was convicted,and is now serving a 25 year sentence. And, naturally, he said that it was not fair that he serve all this time behind bars. He should have been put away for the rest of his life.!

Reppenhagen is a spoiled brat who seems to feel that the rules don't apply to him. Knew him years ago, he was arrogant and above the rest. At least in his own mind, but the booze did assist his mindset. The list of things he did against others is too long to list here, and he will pay for his sins one day, hopefully soon in a court of law. The only thing he did that I was somewhat in awe of was to live life like there was no tomorrow. Thankfully, most of us have some degree of responsibility and conscience, not Reppenhagen..He answered to no one but his own self indulgence.
But Bill, there is a higher authority and you will be answering to him in the end!! Hey Bill, just drive off a bridge, make it quick, do it sober, save us all a load of tax money!!

That actually is a better idea. He should have to pay all of the medical expenses this poor kid will incur. Why should he have anything when his poor victim is facing a lifetime of difficulty because he had to drive drunk.

There are lots of "nice" people in this world... but what this man is NOT , is a RESPONSIBLE MATURE ADULT who obviously had no cares or concern for others on the road that day. He has changed the lives of an innocent young man and his family forever! That does not sound very nice to me!!!
