Election day deadlines

Election day is approaching. Advance voting by mail in Johnson County began Oct. 17. The deadline to apply for an advance voting by mail ballot was Oct. 30. Ballots may be returned by mail or hand-delivered to any advance voting location or Election Day polling site during voting hours or to the Election Office by 7 p.m., Nov. 6. In order for a mailed ballot to count, the ballot must be postmarked on or before the date of the election and received by the third day following the date of the election, unless additional time is permitted by the secretary of state.
