A drunken Dutchess County man burglarized the Shandaken American Legion on Saturday, then led police on a chase into Kingston, where he crashed his car and was arrested, police said.

Ulster County sheriff's deputies were called to a Shandaken residence around 3:55 p.m. The sheriff's office said an investigation determined Ronald W. Mudge, 42, of Winnie Road, Mount Tremper, had grabbed the victim around the neck with his hands.

A Beaver killed a man in Belarus, after the man tried to take its picture, according to a report from Sky News.

Although the April 1 Shandaken town board meeting lasted only 18 minutes, town supervisor Rob Stanley predicted that May's agenda would be full, with reports due on the recreation department master plan, the school district budget, and the long-awaited town-wide flood mitigation plan.
