I, for one, think it's a good thing this bear was killed. I live two miles away from finley falls and happen to know that there are alot of children that live out there. What if that bear had attacked one of them? Appearently the state of Missouri, and Webster County would rather a child be dead instead of the bear. And further more a bow and arrow couldn't kill a two hundred pound bear and even if it had, i seriously doubt somebody would or COULD drag it to Finley Falls....

It's important to never feed one and to lock up anything they might want to eat. Then they won't hang around people. But it's carelessness that causes the tragedies with them.

you would think a person had been killed!!! if tax payers money would be spent more wisely maybe the state wouldn't be in the shape it is. spend more time investigating drug sales, child/elderly abuse, kidnappings oh yeah and murders that haven't been solved in the surrounding counties!! just a suggestion to the game wardens out there who apparently don't have lives.

Ok, what's the back story?
Were they actually threatened by the bear, or just killing it?
Usually a bear will not bother people, unless they feel threatened themselves, or if they have young around.
If they were "threatened" then I wouldn't have a problem with them killing it.
but, most likely it is some dumb redneck around here that just want to kill it. What a waste if that's true.

if you think you can't kill a bear with bow and arrow, your an idiot.
There are many black bear hunting trips to go on.
Search google for black bear hunts...you'll find alot of them!

This is one of many examples of why the authorities should have exclusive rights to be armed. I am new to the area and am amazed by the vast throngs of the unwashed toothless sub human right wing nuts who drive around in their trucks in a state of drunkeness shooting from them with no regard for safety. This is 2009, there is no longer a need to scavenge the woods ( Of other peoples property) for helpless creatures. From what I've learned of the demographics, I am sure most of these people derive their subsistance from the taxpayers. Of course if they are busy killing innocent animals maybe there will be less stealing and reproducing themselves. Whith a population like this, it is no wonder this area never developed or prospered.

OK Gun hater - YOU ARE A MORON!
If we didn't go around killing "innocent animals" they would overpopulate and there would be more problems.
Also, it was shot from a tree stand, obviously they were hunting for deer when (in my estimation this person is an idiot for shooting it) shot this bear.
They were not shooting from a truck, nor was it shot with a gun - moron.
I do have a problem with the bear being killed, but not for hunting.
And by the way, unless you are a PETA freak, the meat purchased from a store are not from Criminal animals. These would technically be "innocent" too.
God gave us these animals to consume. They ate animals in the Bible and I'll eat animals now.

Commentator: You are obviosly a product of one of the area schools. The over population of wildlife should be handled by the authorities, not armed gun toting right wing illiterate inbreds.Funny how the unwashed natives of this area must fall back on name calling and the bible to justify their idiotic positions on issues. Hopefully you and the rest of the Seymour inteligencia will soon be disarmed along with the rest of the world. Im amazed at the fact that people here have all the money and time needed for hunting, guns, vidio games, drugs, alcohol, stealing, tv, fishing boats and rampant breeding like wild animals but no time for employment, education, honesty or proper family fucntioning. Government checks have taken the place of a working father in the home. Instead we have tax funded breeding bulls in the hud home enjoying the above activities at my expence. I thank Ill get drunk and kill a bar! Ya Hoo!

Gun Hater is obviously not familier with the Bill of Rights. Our founding fathers decided to inlude this little piece of writing to protect normal people from the likes of Gun Hater.

"The right to bear arms SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED". This means they recognized the right was not the governments to give or take, but that it is a basic human right that no one can may interfere with.

So Gun Hater, I say educate yourself and stop being ignorant (look it up).

They were speaking of a well regulated militia, not the swastica tatooed, rebel flag flying dimwits that seem to be in the majority around here. When the second amendment was written, the colonial farmers faced many dangers we no longer face. We have the police, national guard ect. What you support are drunken gun toting inbreds shooting animals they no longer need for food, but rather shooting and killing to get their rocks off. A somewhat tainted view of the Bill of Rights. Grow Up!

Gun Hater, wow!
If you hate it here so much, move!
Nobody asked you to come here. Go back to your liberal NY or CA state, where tree hugging hippies like yourself can enjoy each others company.
I, work a very respectable full time job and have a great relationship with my family. And i have never taken a government check in my life nor will I.
It's the liberals who think everybody should be taken care of by the government, not the conservatives whom mostly live in this area.
I personally am not a hunter, because i don't have time to be.
I love fishing, and as you would find many very sophisticated, intelligent people love the sport of hunting and fishing. Many of these are the same people you find on the golf courses of very private expensive golf courses.
I know you probably moved here because of our low cost of living, and low taxes. And again, if you don't like the way we live here.
Get out! We don't want ya!
And as I had mentioned earlier, I feel like the killing of the bear was wrong, and the person who did it should be punished according to the law.
However, on your comment that the government should take care of by authorities. What do you think the MO dept. of Conservation is who puts the hunting seasons and regulations in place.
I do know that there are some idiots out there (like the bear killer) who do not abide by the laws in place, and they should be punished. I disagree completely with those who break those laws.
These Conservation agents have dedicated their life and have the education and study to decide what is best for the environment and the animals therein. I think they have a better understanding of this than you or I, that is why I stand by their laws and regulations when dealing with hunting and fishing.

To respond to Gun Hater go back where you came from or did you get run off? Haven't you heard that we have the right to bear arms and if that's what we choose to spend our money on it's none of your business. My family hunts and we do eat what is harvested. I certainly hope you are a vegetarian if you think animals shouldn't be killed. The seasons are put into place to control the population. About the bear, the only thing that has ever been said is that it was dumped here; not that it was killed here. As for your nasty comments about the people who live in this community most are unemployed not by choice but because their jobs were moved to Mexico or they are in the construction business. They are hard working individuals who have met with bad times. You are probably wealthy and don't understand having to struggle to feed your family or you wouldn't bad mouth the unemployed. Sounds to me like you have several issues with this area so I say again just leave then. And by the way, the word Bible is always capitalized. America, love it and what she stands for or leave. I'm sure somewhere would like your opinions of being disarmed but it won't be here!!

whatswiththis $ Commenter: For your information, I don't need your permission to live here, there is no "we" just you. You have no idea who runs things or how and why decisions are made. the USA is a figment of your imagination, we are one world now. your ficticious gun rights will be bargained away by international treaty. You will gladly turn them in when the time comes. We sent your jobs away because you people are no longer needed. Many of the businesses I participated in sending off shore were happy to get the cheap labor. Thier owners always complained about having to pay ridiculous wages and benifits to a lazy and uneducated work force who acted like they were owed jobs. You aren't. We who run things make lots of profit from these trade deals. This will continue, the economy in the former U.S. will not recover to its former level. Your, not my living standards will be evened out with the third world. You will learn to expect and live on less. You live in the reality we create for you, we control the information that flows into your sub human brains. Your own people put on uniforms and do our biding for us, what other choice do they have? There are are only so many places at the table, there will never be one for the unwashed. You will serve us or serve hamburgers.

WOW!
You are one really pompous arrogant son of a gun!
Gun Hater!
If you really think that the world is better off as a one world government and you think you "run" things.
You are unAmerican and will someday have some real regrets.
Even if you "run" things here in this world, if you don't get things right with the LORD you will sadly one day be much worse than even the lowest of humans on this earth.
Judgement day is coming. You better get ready.
I honestly am not angry with you anymore, but sad.
I should apologize for getting angry and being rude earlier.
I should have disagreed with you in a more calm nature.
so with that i apologize.
Now, let me say this.
"God loved the world in this way, he gave his son's life (Jesus Christ) to die for us. And raise to life 3 days later. He did this so that the sin we have in our life would be paid for.
The Bible says, "ALL have sinned and fallen short of God's Glory."
That means me you and every person on this earth.
"But the gift of God is eternal life though Jesus Christ our Lord".
We are all just visitors of this world. Our days here on Earth are numbered.
After that we have the Judgement. We all need a personal relationship with Christ. If we don't we will spend that eternity after this life in Hell.
If we do we will spend it in the presence of our Creator in Heaven.
Gun Hater (and his supporters) you may not believe that and you may think that I'm ignorant for believing that.
That is fine. I know where my treasure is and it isn't in this world.
I have prayed for forgiveness of my bad attitude earlier and ask forgiveness from you.
I now pray for your life that you may come to a realization of the sacrificed given for you, and that you come to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

The way you talk Gun Hater you must be the pres of the U.S. or maybe and ALIEN!!! What's with the "we" sent your jobs away and "we" run things? Just who do you think you are? Who is "us" that we will be serving? I don't think so. If I didn't know better (and I do) I would think I was reading comments from the anti-christ. This is a small community and we do stick together; we help each other during emergencies; fund raisers are done to help families who have catastrophic occurrences; we watch each others children when needed and I could go on and on. If you don't like that kind of community maybe you should see how many people would follow you to another one. I have to agree with Commentor - you got under my skin at first but now it is just pitiful. How sad it must be to be alone because I just can't imagine anyone wanting to be around you. May God be with you.

Whatswiththis: Thanks for making several of my points for me.Playing with your minds is like the cat playing with its prey. FOOL! FOOLS! We create the perceptions that plant the fears, desires and proclivities in your little minds to get you to do our bidding for us. We place you in fear and you demand we take your freedom. We send jobs away and convince you it's good for you. We can feed you the most outrageous lies and you will think it unpatriotic to disbelieve them. When we take your guns and your remaining freedom, do you not think we will use your bible to help us? Does Romans 13 ring a bell?

Gun Hater,
I pray that you are not one of our Elected Government officials, although it wouldn't surprise me.
Romans 13 is true, we must submit to Government authority, but there will be a day (read Revelation) to which we cannot follow the governing authority. The anti-Christ will be in rule someday, and I pray I am gone before that.
But at that point we are specifically to not obey his authority.
One world government that you speak of is a part of what leads up to this.
Again, repent and ask Christ to forgive you of your sins! Or you will someday pay for it in the burning pits of Hell!

Is there no one on this topic who can carry on an inteligent conversation without falling back on religion? You are all making my points for me. While you people have been busy coon hunting, watching nascar, cooking meth in your trailers, pumping out illigitimate redneck kids like sausages, we have been successful in the courts and legislature removing this religious hocus pocus from public view. We have also been able to influence and control much of what can be said from the pulpit. You are loosing control of religion. You will loose your guns too. Look at statistics, accidental shootings, murders, suicides robbery ect. ect. Im sure your local police are capable of protecting us here, so why not give up your guns? Don't bother mentioning the gun lobby's bogus statistics on gun owners preventing crime. They pulled that out of thin air. I believe the police will protect us, why don't you?

Daily Horoscope for December 27

Capricorn

You'll have a fabulous time if you're longing to see what's on offer in the sales, especially if you want to buy yourself some new clothes or cosmetics. However, you won't pay much attention to how much you're spending, and may even deliberately avoid thinking about it. Do yourself a favor and don't go overboard if you can't afford it.
