Perkasie Luring Suspect Is Lured Into Custody Himself
To catch a Berks County man accused of trying to lure a 16-year-old girl into his truck on July 2, Perkasie police had to do a little luring of their own.
Officers spoke to employees at the Sellersville business where their chief suspect had parked his truck, got a phone number for a man the workers knew only as ''Devon,'' and enticed him back to the business where he had been foraging in a trash container for scrap metal.
When Lakeram Mohabeer returned to Sellersville, detectives confronted him and, according to charging papers, he admitted to twice asking the girl for cigarettes, offering her a ride, and telling her ''you are beautiful'' after running into her a third time.

Bucks and Montco to get vet centers
Bucks and Montgomery counties are in line for new vet centers designed to help soldiers readjust to civilian life after serving in war zones.
The centers, operated by the Department of Veterans Affairs and designed to be low-key and approachable, offer mental health counseling and other support services to combat veterans and their families.
''This is outstanding news,'' Bucks Veterans Affairs Director Dan Fraley said. ''We needed it. We have been lobbying for it. We have been seeing more Iraq veterans.''

Boy struck while riding bike in Sellersville
A 12-year-old Philadelphia boy was listed in stable condition today at Lehigh Valley Hospital, two days after being hit by a car while bicycling across a Sellersville street.
Wilson Alequin was crossing Main Street at Park Avenue when he was hit about 3:25 p.m. Tuesday, police said. He was thrown from his bike, and suffered a large bump on the back of his head and many cuts , police said.
Perkasie Police Chief Joseph Gura said authorities have yet to determine who had the right-of-way at the intersection. The driver, Danica Schwegel, 34, of East Market St., Perkasie, has not been cited, he said.
